Freestyle guidelines

Philosophy:  
Mt. Rose Freestyle Contests are of a fun format in nature w/ participants given the chance to measure their skills among their piers.  Those not abiding by the guidelines of contest officials or maintaining the spirit of a fun competition will be asked to leave.    

Entry Fee:  
Free

Entry Requirements:

• All  participants must have a current Mt.  Rose – Value Pass or daily lift  ticket.
• All  participants must sign a release of liability (signed by their parents if a  minor.)
• All  participants must wear an event bib when participating.

Age Groups:
Limits per category:  max 20, min 4

 I           16 & up
 II           12-15  
 III          11  & under

Group Information:

• Snowboarders compete w/ Skiers
• Girlz vs. girlz   / boyz vs. boyz
• Girls are typically a single bracket, not broken out by age.  If entries justify, female age breakdowns will be implemented.  This format has been adopted due to an historical low # of female entries.

Prizes:
Typical contests have a 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each category.
Awards are generally medals or trophies.
Sometimes 1st place winners are awarded w/ additional loot (swag, gift certificates, etc…)
