Ladies Day Clinics

Mt. Rose is introducing new features for the Ladies Day clinics this season, including a pre-meet for coffee and a tech talk attached to the 2-hr clinic on Thursdays and a new Sunday afternoon clinic special!

Mt. Rose Ladies Clinics are for women skiers and snowboarders from low intermediate to advanced abilities wanting to break barriers that prevent women from achieving their best snow experiences. All classes are taught by PSIA certified woman instructors.

Coffee & Tech Talk (meet in Timbers) 9:30am-10:00am
On Mountain Training 10:00am-12:00pm
Cost $20 with a lift ticket or season pass

Our Ladies Day Instructors

Dede Goodnight– Dede learned to ski just down the road at Sky Tavern when she was 12.  She later returned to Sky Tavern as an instructor and trainer.  She began instructing at Mt. Rose in 2001 and has since become certified by PSIA. Dede has also received her Children’s Specialist II and Senior Specialist accreditation from PSIA. Dede says, “Teaching skiing is pure joy!”


Anne Shrake– Anne started her teaching career with the Crested Butte Ski School back in the 70’s while racing for Western State College.  She returned to ski teaching last season at Mt. Rose and earned her PSIA Level 1 Certification. Anne says, “There is no right, nor wrong way to ski.  Some techniques utilize the equipment more efficiently and more gracefully than others.  My primary objective is that the skier enjoys their time on the snow and stays safe while do so.  How much more fun could a job be?!!!”


Christine LeDuc– Christine started skiing in 1980 and her son got her to try snowboarding in 1995 and she has been riding ever since.  Christine started teaching at Mt. Rose in 2005. “This is the best job ever.  I think everyone should try snowboarding, it’s so fun!”  Christine LeDuc, The Snowboarding Grandma



Patti Walsh- Patti learned to ski as an adult while she was in college in Wyoming. When her son was small she started teaching at the Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program and realized that's what she loved to do! While at Sky Tavern, she became a PSIA Level I instructor.  Since then she has also completed PSIA Children's Specialist and Senior Specialist certifications. Patti has been at Mt Rose since 2007.

Gina Hames- Gina taught, coached and trained for 30 years at Kirkwood Mountain Resort and is a PSIA Level III Certified Instructor.  Gina ran the children’s ski and snowboard school at Kirkwood for 15 years in addition to leading women’s ski camps.  Gina joined the Mt. Rose Ski & Snowboard School in 2012.


Tara Moore– Tara began her teaching career at Mt. Rose in 1991.  Since then she has become a Level 3 Certified Alpine Instructor through PSIA as well as a Level 200 Ski Coach.  Tara is currently the head coach of the U12/U14 program of Team Falcons.


Linda Good– Linda started her teaching career in the Aurach bei Kitzbuhel Ski School in 1965. She spent 25 years at Mammoth Mountain as well as stints at Chateau Tongariro Ski School in New Zealand, Boreal/Soda Springs Ski School, Northstar at Tahoe Ski School, and the last 11 winters at Mt. Rose.

Linda helped to develop and start the Women’s Ski Clinics last season at Mt. Rose and is a PSIA Level 3 Certified Alpine Instructor and a Level 2 PSIA Senior Specialist.

Aimee Mason- Aimee started skiing at 8 years old in Lake Placid New York and hasn't stopped. She has an extreme passion for skiing and teaching others to ski. Aimee raised and taught two daughters to ski who share her passion for snow and have both also been ski instructors.  She is PSIA certified and has children and senior certifications. Aimee makes the best chocolate chip cookies and believes skiing gives you the freedom to fly.
